Your exact age, not just the year count

This age calculator gives your exact age down to the day. Not just "I'm 28", but "28 years, 4 months and 12 days". Someone born on 15 August 1998 is 28 years, 2 months and 0 days old on 15 October 2026. That level of detail comes up more often than you'd think:

  • Government documents: passport, Aadhaar and many certificates need your date of birth checked exactly.
  • Insurance: premiums are based on your age on the date you take the policy.
  • Retirement: see exactly how long you have until 60 or 65 for pension eligibility.
  • Eligibility: competitive exams, government jobs and schemes have age cut-offs, and you can check yours in seconds.

How the age is worked out

The calculator uses the Gregorian calendar and allows for leap years. It counts complete years first, then the months left over, then the remaining days. That's the usual way age is stated in India, for example the "age as on" a cut-off date in exam and job notifications.
