How to Use
- Choose or drop your PDF. Page previews appear as you scroll, and the file never leaves your device.
- Reorder pages by dragging a page by its grip handle (with a mouse you can drag from anywhere on the card), or move it one step with the โ / โ buttons.
- Delete pages with the bin button on a page, or select several and press Delete selected. Undo and Reset bring pages back.
- To extract pages, tap them to select (or type positions such as
1-3, 8and press Select), then press Extract selected. - Press Download PDF to save the whole document in its new order.
Reorder, delete and extract PDF pages
This tool shows every page of your PDF as a thumbnail. You can put the pages in the right order, delete the ones you don't need, or extract a few pages into a separate file. It helps when the scanner fed sheets in the wrong order, when a scan picked up blank pages, or when an office wants only some pages of a long document. Everything happens in your browser, and the PDF is never uploaded.
What you can do
| Task | How |
|---|---|
| Move a page | Drag it by its grip handle (with a mouse, drag from anywhere on the card), or press โ / โ to move it one place |
| Delete pages | Press the bin button on a page, or select several pages and press Delete selected |
| Extract pages to a new PDF | Tap pages to select them (or type positions such as 1-3, 8 and press Select), then press Extract selected |
| Change your mind | Undo steps back one change at a time; Reset restores the original order with all pages |
| Save | Download PDF saves every page in the grid, in the grid's order |
How the new PDF is made
The previews are drawn with pdf.js. When you download, the tool creates a new PDF and copies the pages you kept into it, in your order, using pdf-lib. The pages themselves are copied unchanged:
extract = the selected pages only, in grid order
Nothing is redrawn or re-compressed, so text stays selectable and quality is identical to the original. Because the pages go into a new document, bookmarks, fillable form fields and links that jump to other pages may not carry over.
Worked example
You scanned a 12-page rent agreement. The stamp-paper page ended up last, and pages 6 and 9 are blank backs of sheets. You also need pages 1 to 3 as a separate file for a bank:
- Drag page 12 to the start of the grid. Every other page moves one place later, so the blank pages are now at positions 7 and 10, and the cards show "was p.6" and "was p.9".
- Tap the two blank pages and press Delete selected. Ten pages are left.
- Press Download PDF for the cleaned-up agreement.
- Type
1-3, press Select, then Extract selected. The new 3-page file contains the stamp paper and the first two pages of the agreement.
The page numbers you type are the current positions in the grid, not the original page numbers. The small "was p.N" label on a moved page tells you where it came from.
Tips
- Large PDFs open quickly because previews are drawn only as you scroll to them.
- On a phone, scroll normally and drag only by the grip handle at the top-left of each page. The arrow buttons are often easier for small moves.
- Your original file is never changed. Downloads end in
-organized.pdfor-extract.pdf. - Password-protected and encrypted PDFs can't be edited here. Save an unprotected copy first.
- Need pages turned the right way up? Use the Rotate PDF Pages tool, before or after organising.
